Just a short drive from Hilton Head, the historic waterfront town of Beaufort is, perhaps, one of the prettiest and most picturesque small towns to be found anywhere. With antebellum mansions fronting the bay and new traditional-styled neighborhoods being created under massive oak trees laden with Spanish moss, this friendly little community has a charm all its own.
In stark contrast to Beaufort, Bluffton, located just across the bridge from Hilton Head Island, has virtually risen from a small hamlet of just a few homes and stores to a sprawling mix of “big box” stores and golf course developments, ranging from affordable retirement communities to others with multi-million dollar properties.
